Rachel Kent earned All-League third team honors.
IUPUI standout Williams was named four-time Player of the Year and is only the fourth Division I women's basketball student-athlete to be named conference Player of the Year four times. She collected four Horizon League Player of the Week awards this season to bring her career total to 13 awards with the Jags.
Williams recorded ten double-doubles during the regular season and averages a double-double with 18.1 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in 23 games played. Williams leads the league in rebounds per game and field goal percentage at 63.2 percent. She also averages 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Williams was also named to the All-League First Team this season and was Freshman of the Year after her initial season with the Jags. She is IUPUI's all-time leader in scoring and rebounds.
"I'm thrilled for Macee as she very much deserved this award," said head coach
Austin Parkinson. "I've always admired her ability to manage the incredibly high expectations put on her shoulders. Being named Player of the Year for the fourth time is historic and they should probably name the award after her in the future."
McLimore was named All-League Second Team and All-Defensive Team. McLimore is a two-time Player of the Week and leads the Horizon League in free throw percentage with 94.0 percent. She is second on the team with 12.8 points and 3.0 assists per game in 24 games. McLimore recorded at least one steal in 12 games and five 20+ point games this season. She was also named All-League Second Team and All-Defensive Team during her red-shirt junior year and All-League Third Team after her redshirt-sophomore season.
"I'm happy for Rachel Mac being recognized," said Parkinson. "In my opinion she is a first team player and the best defensive player in our league. Every game she guards the best wing and typically holds them under their average."
Kent earned All-League Third Team honors. The sophomore sharpshooter leads the league in three-point field goal percentage with 41.4 percent and three-point field goals made with 2.52 per game. She is third on the team with 10.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in 25 games played. Kent has also recorded thirteen 10+ point games.
"
Rachel Kent is one of the best shooters in the country and an underrated defender," said Parkinson. "I have a feeling this will be the first of several awards in her career at IUPUI."
The IUPUI women's basketball team is the No. 1 seed heading into the Horizon League Tournament and will face the lowest seed remaining for the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 3
rd at the Jungle with tip-off at 7:00 PM.
