INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IUPUI women's basketball standout, Macee Williams was selected as a finalist for the 2021-22 Senior CLASS Award today for her consistently impressive performance on the court and her involvement in the community. Williams is one of only 10 women's basketball student-athletes selected.

The Senior CLASS Award, an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, is for a student-athlete classified as an NCAA Division 1 senior and shows notable achievements in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition.

Williams is the three-time Horizon League Player of the Year and the all-time leader in Player of the Week awards with 12. She is known as one of the best players in #HLWBB history and was named Freshman of the Week six times, followed by Freshman of the Year in 2018 after her rookie season. Williams has also sealed her name in the record books at IUPUI as she is the all-time leader in points with 2,150 career points and just took the lead in rebounds to make her the all-time leader in rebounds with 1,178 career rebounds. She is currently averaging a double-double with 17.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. She is also averaging 1.5 steals and 2.2 assists per game through 17 games this season.

As a leader of the IUPUI women's basketball team, Williams has used her platform to make a positive impact in the community. During her time as a Jaguar, she became involved with the Christian Student Fellowship (CSF) and helped with a program called FAME, which is a medical evangelism program that helps repurpose medical supplies for those in need. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Williams and fellow Jags would visit the Riley Children's Hospital to visit with kids, make arts and crafts and play games.

Williams also excels in the classroom and has already earned her undergraduate degree in sport management with a 3.2 GPA. She was named to the IUPUI's Academic Advisor's List five times and is now pursuing a master's degree in elementary education.

"I'm extremely happy to see Macee recognized for her talents as she is one of the top post players in the entire country," said IUPUI head coach Austin Parkinson.

The finalists were chosen by a selection committee from a list of 30 women's candidates. The winner will be chosen based off fan votes combined with votes from the media and Division 1 head coaches. You can submit your vote for Williams online at SeniorCLASSAward.com through March 21. The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2022 NCAA Women's Final Four.
