KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - IUPUI senior
Alex Jochim saw his run at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships come to a close on Saturday (Sept. 25) as he lost in the round of 32 of the consolation bracket. Jochim was defeated by Purdue's Rohan Sachdev, 6-4, 6-1 on Saturday morning.
It concluded a week in which IUPUI players showed well in both singles and doubles.
"We started off strong in the regional tournament with first round wins by Kozerski and Jankowski in singles and from the doubles team of Jochim and Jankowski," head coach
Bren Vasalakis said. "After those first rounds, we had a tough time carrying the momentum onto the next opponents and did not finish the tournament as strong as we started.
"Overall, we had a solid turnout, but we definitely found areas we need to continue to improve upon."
The Jaguars will continue the fall slate on Oct. 1-2 when they participate in the Dayton Invitational.
