ROCHESTER, Mich. – IUPUI women's basketball hits the road for a quarterfinal matchup in the 2021 Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship against Oakland on Tuesday, March 1.
The game against the Golden Grizzlies will begin at 3 p.m. and be streamed on ESPN+.

IUPUI enters the game on a five-game win streak but has not played since beating Youngstown State on Feb. 13. The Jags are led by three-time Horizon League Player of the Year
Macee Williams, who averaged career-highs in points per game (17.9), rebounds per game (9.3) and assists per game (2.2).
QUICK HITTERS
Rachel McLimore was named Second Team All-Horizon and to the Horizon League All-Defensive Team in her second year as a Jaguar. McLimore was second on the team with 14.0 points per game and 2.6 assists per game. She also averaged 1.5 steals per contest.
Destiny Perkins has had a smooth transition to the point guard role, scoring 8.2 points per game, pulling down 3.5 rebounds per game, handing out 2.4 assists per game and averaging 2.1 steals per game.
Sydney Roule has been on fire from three this year, scoring a career-high 7.1 points per game and shooting 44.7% from behind the arc to lead the Jags. The senior has hit a three in all but three games this season and made four threes in five different games.
Natalie Andersen has been a spark of the bench for head coach
Austin Parkinson, scoring 6.2 points per game to lead all bench scorers. Andersen averages 3.1 rebounds per game and is shooting over 40 percent from both the field and three-point range.
The Jags trailed at halftime in both games against Youngstown State. It was the first time all season that IUPUI had trailed at halftime. In the first game against the Penguins, IUPUI overcame a 15-point deficit, the largest IUPUI has overcome in the last five seasons.
Williams has been unstoppable for IUPUI in the last seven games, scoring at least 13 points in each game and having two games of 20+ points. During that streak, Williams has four double-doubles and has had four games of five assists. Williams has shot over 50 percent in each of the last five games.
McLimore is riding a string of eight-straight games scoring in double-figures. During the run, McLimore has three games of at least 20 points, including a 30-point effort in the Jags' double overtime loss against Milwaukee.
IN THE HORIZON
IUPUI is tops in the Horizon League, scoring 71.7 points per game. The Jags are the only team averaging more than 70 points per game. IUPUI also boasts the league's top scoring margin at 13.9 points.
The Jaguars are also the top shooting team in the league, shooting at 46.3 percent from the floor and 37.6 percent from three-point range.
IUPUI's offense has been so prolific thanks to the Jags dishing out 15.35 assists per game, second in the league.
On the defensive side of the ball, IUPUI allows the third-fewest points per game in the league (57.8) and is the top team in defending the three, allowing teams to shoot just 26.4 percent from deep.
ABOUT OAKLAND
Oakland comes in to the game having lost its regular season finale by 13 to Northern Kentucky. The Golden Grizzlies have split their last four games to end the seasons.
Kahlaijah Dean is one of the top scorers in the Horizon, averaging 17.3 points per game and Oakland's 69.7 points per game is second in the league behind IUPUI. Alona Blackwell is the only other Golden Grizzly in double-figures at 10.7 points per game.
On defense, Oakland gives up an average of 72.8 points per game and allows opponents to shoot 44 percent from the field.
HISTORY AGAINST OAKLAND
Oakland owns the all-time record against IUPUI 24-20 but recent history has been completely one-sided in favor of IUPUI. The Jags have won eight-straight games against Oakland. Five of the seven games that IUPUI has played against Oakland since joining the Horizon League have been decided by at least 15 points.
Last season IUPUI beat Oakland 76-41 in Indianapolis and 89-63 in Rochester.
Macee Williams has scored in double-figures in every game she has played against the Golden Grizzlies, including a 31-point outing the last time she played in Rochester. Williams was a staggering 15-for-19 from the field in just 27 minutes of play.
