INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI men's tennis is back in Indianapolis for a match against SMU on Friday (Feb. 19). The Jags will take on the Mustangs at 11:30 a.m. at the Pearson Automotive Tennis Center in Zionsville.
Due to Horizon League COVID-19 protocols, fans will not be allowed in attendance.
IUPUI (2-2) has won its last two matches and is coming of another week of sweeping the Horizon League Men's Tennis weekly awards. The Jags pulled out a narrow 4-3 win at Austin Peay the last time they took the court.
Alex Jochim leads IUPUI with a 3-0 singles record and
Ethan Mardanus-Budiono and
Eric Hollingsworth are both on two-match win streaks.
ABOUT SMU
SMU comes in to the match with a 6-5 record and had won three-straight matches before losing at Utah 3-4 the last time the Mustangs were on the court. SMU is 1-4 in road matches this season.
Julian Steinhausen leads the Mustangs with seven singles wins, including a 4-0 record at the No. 5 spot. Liam Krall is second on the team with five singles wins and is 2-0 at the No. 1 spot.
This will be the first meeting between IUPUI and SMU.
