WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TAKES ON YOUNGSTOWN STATE OVER THE WEEKEND

IUPUI begins its final home stand of the regular season against Youngstown State on Friday (Feb. 12).

INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI women's basketball takes to the court for the final time in the regular season with two games against Youngstown State on Friday (Feb. 12) and Saturday (Feb. 13). Both games against the Penguins will begin at 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+ with Scott Agness on the call.

IUPUI (11-4, 9-3 Horizon) is riding a three-game winning streak in to the weekend. The Jags swept UIC last weekend on the road as IUPUI makes a push for a top-four seed in the Horizon League Tournament.

It will be a battle of two of the top offenses in the league as the Jags take on the Penguins. IUPUI leads the Horizon League at 72.2 points per game and shoots a league-best 46 percent from the field. Youngstown State enters the weekend second in the league in field goal percentage (45.1) and third in scoring (67.8). The games will also feature the top two three-point shooting teams in the league with IUPUI leading at 37.5 percent and 7.3 makes and Youngstown State in second at 35 percent and 7.2 makes.

While both teams match up well in most other categories, IUPUI holds a large advantage in turnover margin (+1.47 to -3.42) and the Penguins are shooting 73.3 percent from the foul line, while the Jags are hitting just 68.8 percent.

ABOUT IUPUI
Rachel McLimore continues to be a steady for the IUPUI offense, averaging the second-most points on the team at 13.8 points per game. McLimore has scored in double-figures in each of the last six games and shot better than 42 percent from the field in each contest. McLimore is now at 10th in the Horizon League in scoring.

During IUPUI's three-game win streak, Macee Williams has averaged over 16 points per game and six rebounds. Williams has made at least 50 percent of her shots during the run. Williams currently sits second in the league in points per game (17.7), rebounds per game (9.1) and field goal percentage (51.3).

Sydney Roule has made at least one three in all but one game this season, including in each of the last five games. The senior has made 34 threes this year and is shooting over 45 percent from deep, while averaging 7.9 points per game.

Senior Agatha Beier has taken advantage of more playing time in the absence of Destiny Perkins. Beier has started the last three games and has averaged five points per game after scoring under one point per game coming in to the win streak. Beier has also handed out seven assists in each of her last two games and 22 assists in the last four IUPUI games.

Natalie Andersen continues to be a steady force off the bench for head coach Austin Parkinson. The sophomore is scoring 6.6 points per game and has grabbed three rebounds per game. She is shooting over 40 percent from the field and almost 87 percent from the free throw line.

IUPUI currently sits in fifth place in the seeding for this year's Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship. The Jags trail Wright State, Milwaukee, Green Bay and Oakland. The top five seeds will receive a first round bye in the tournament with the top four seeds hosting a quarterfinal game.

SCOUTING YOUNGSTOWN STATE
The Penguins are on a roll coming in to the weekend against IUPUI, having won three-straight and eight of their last nine, including a 42-point win over Purdue Fort Wayne two games ago.

Youngstown State has four players scoring in double figures this season with Mary Dunn and Nneka Obiazor each scoring 14.5 points per game. Obiazor is also pulling down a team best 8.7 rebounds per contest. Chelsea Olson is scoring at 10.9 points per game and McKenah Peters leads the team with 30 threes and is scoring 10.3 points per game.

ALL TIME SERIES
IUPUI trails in the all-time series with Youngstown State 7-9. The two teams have split the last four games with each team winning both games at home.

The last game between the two teams was a 77-69 win for IUPUI in the Jungle. Macee Williams led IUPUI with 25 points and 15 rebounds. Rachel McLimore and Holly Hoopingarner each had 13 points and Natalie Andersen scored 11.
