MUNCIE, Ind. - The IUPUI men's tennis team had three doubles tandems collect victories on Friday (Oct. 15) on day one of the Ball State Fall Invitational. Play will continue in Muncie on Saturday.
In doubles action,
Sean Bailey and Nick Moody outlasted their opponents from Ball State by a 7-6 (6) score while
Nathan Day and
Kamil Kozerski coasted past their opposition from Marquette, 6-1.
The pair of
Alex Jochim and
Emil Jankowski outlasted their opponents from Butler in a 6-4 win to advance to the semifinals as well.
In singles play, IUPUI didn't fare quite as well as Kozerski earned a three-set win in his flight over Butler's Alvaro Huete Vadillo, 6-3, 3-6, 10-7. In addition, Day knocked off Marquette's Nathan Balthazor in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
Jankowski just missed a first round win over Ball State's Danilo Kovacevic, falling 6-3, 2-6, 10-2 in his opening match.
