1/21/2021 8:32:00 AM

INDIANAPOLIS - Coming off of a two-week break due to COVID-19 protocols, IUPUI is back in action playing host to the Horizon League's hottest team. In a meeting of two of the three undefeated teams in the league, IUPUI (6-0 Horizon) will take on Milwaukee (10-0 Horizon) on both Friday (Jan. 22) and Saturday (Jan. 23).

Both games against the Panthers will begin at 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+ with Scott Agness on the play-by-play call.

The Jags are back on the court after games against Northern Kentucky and Wright State were cancelled the last two weekends. It will be a test to see if the Horizon League's best offense at 74 points per game can weather the break taking on the league's best scoring defense as the Panthers allow just 48.9 points per game. IUPUI's defense is no slouch though, as the Jags boast the second-best scoring in defense in the league at 52 points per game.

ABOUT THE JAGS
- The Jags found themselves receiving votes in both the Women's AP Top-25 Poll and the USA Today Coaches' Poll. The Jags have been in the Coaches' poll for the last few weeks but broke in to the AP Poll for the first time in school history this week.

- IUPUI is off to its best start in conference play at 6-0. The Jags' 8-1 record is the best start to a season in school history.

- The Jaguars are on fire to start the season, averaging 74.0 points per game to lead the league. On the other side of the court, IUPUI is allowing just 52.0 points per game, which is second best in the Horizon League. This has given IUPUI a scoring margin of 22.0 points per game which is 7.6 points higher than second-place Milwaukee (+14.4 ppg).

- In all eight of IUPUI's wins, the Jags have won by at least 20 points, including the last six games, a school record. The most wins of 20+ points in a season is 12 set during the 2017-18 and 2019-20 campaigns.

- Macee Williams has been her consistent self to start the season, leading the Jags in scoring in eight of the nine games this season, all wins. Williams has also led the team in rebounding in every contest. The star senior is currently averaging 19.4 points and 9.9 rebounds while averaging just 25.0 minutes per game.

- Senior Sydney Roule has doubled her scoring output from last season, up to 10.4 points per game from 5.2 ppg last season. Roule is shooting better from three (52%) than from the field (49%) and has already hit 28 threes this season in just night games. Roule made 44 threes in 31 games last year.

- Morgan Allen took advantage of more playing time against Cleveland State and scored a season-best 10 points against the Vikings in her last game. Allen also scored eight points in the first game against Cleveland State.

- Macee Williams has now moved in to second place in both the all-time scoring list and all-time rebounding list in IUPUI history. The scoring record could still be in play for Williams despite the shortened season. The senior is just 161 points away from tying the top mark. She is 275 rebounds away from the top mark on that list.

- Destiny Perkins has stepped up in taking over from Holly Hoopingarner at the point guard spot, leading the team in both assists per game (3.2) and steals per game (2.3).  Perkins is currently second in the Horizon League in steals and sits at sixth in assists. The redshirt junior is also third in the league in assist/turnover ratio at 1.4.

- IUPUI has controlled the series with Milwaukee since joining the Horizon League. In a battle of the league's big cats, the Jags have beaten the Panthers in five of the six meetings, including four-straight.

- This will be the first real tough for both teams in league play in a while. the combined league records of IUPUI's last three opponents is 2-24. For Milwaukee, their last four opponents are a combined 3-33 in league games.
