INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI women's basketball senior point guard Holly Hoopingarner was named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team, the league announced on Thursday (Feb. 27). The five person team is voted on by the Faculty Athletics Representatives of the member schools.

Hoopingarner earned the honor for the second-straight season after being named to the team as a junior. The Greenwood, Ind., native holds a 3.944 GPA in Exercise Science and is one of the top guards in the league this season.

"I am incredibly proud of Holly for being a leader both on the court and in the classroom," said head coach Austin Parkinson, "This honor is indicative of her hard work."

Hoopingarner currently leads the Horizon League with 3.9 assists per game and is third on team in scoring at 9.6 points per contest. She comes in to the final regular season game for IUPUI just three points away from 1,000 career points.

Hoopingarner and the rest of the Jaguars will play their final home game of the year against UIC on Friday (Feb. 28) at 7 p.m. before playing the semifinals of the Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship on Monday (March 9) at noon.
