JAGUARS BACK IN THE JUNGLE TO TAKE ON MILWAUKEE

IUPUI hopes to bounce back from its loss to Northern Kentucky with a contest against the Panthers.

INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI women's basketball kicks off three-straight home games to end the season with a game against Milwaukee on Friday (Feb. 21). The game against the Panthers tips off at 7 p.m. in the Jungle and will be streamed on ESPN+ with Andrew Kappes on the play by play call.

IUPUI (19-7, 13-2) is coming off of a loss at Northern Kentucky that ended the Jaguars' 13-game win streak. The Jags fell behind by as much as 15 points in the third quarter before making a comeback that pulled IUPUI within one under ten seconds left. Rachel McLimore had a chance to give IUPUI the lead but her jumper fell off the rim and the Norse was able to ice the game at the free throw line.

The Jags now turn their attention to Milwaukee who comes in having won its last four games. IUPUI has a chance to earn the No. 1 seed in the Horizon League Tournament and its first regular season title in school history with a win over the Panthers. IUPUI has had Milwaukee's number as of late, winning the last three meetings and holds a 5-2 lead in the series.

FIRST MEETING AGAINST MILWAUKEE (75-52 WIN)
  • Four Jags finished in double-figures as IUPUI beat Milwaukee by 23 points.
  • Destiny Perkins led the Jags with a season-high 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting and hitting 3-of-4 threes.
  • Macee Williams, Rachel McLimore and Sydney Roule all scored 12 points.
  • IUPUI finished 11-for-21 rom three, shooting better from beyond the arc than from inside (18-36).
WHAT A WIN MEANS
  • A win for IUPUI means that the Jaguars will clinch their first regular season title in school history. The Jaguars will also earn the No. 1 seed in the Horizon League Tournament and will have bye to the semifinals on Monday, March 9.
  • IUPUI will earn another 20-win season. It will be the fifth-straight 20-win season for IUPUI and the seventh in the last eight years. All of IUPUI's 20-win seasons in the DI era. The Jags had two 20-win seasons before moving to DI.
  • A victory would be IUPUI's 14th win in league play, the most in school history. The most wins for IUPUI in league play have come in each of the last two years when the Jags finished 13-5.
  • A win means that IUPUI could finish with no more than two losses on their home court in the regular season. It was tie for the fewest home losses in the DI era in the Jungle. IUPUI has finished with two losses at home in three seasons since 1998.
ENDING THE STREAK
  • - IUPUI's 13-game win streak came to an end with a three-point lead at Northern Kentucky in its last game.
  • - Macee Williams poured in 22 points and Rachel McLimore added 15 but the Jags win streak ended with a 65-62 loss at Northern Kentucky
  • - The Jags were outscored 22-5 in the second quarter and fell behind by as much as 15 in the third quarter.
  • - Rachel McLimore's go-ahead basket with under three seconds left fell of the rim to complete the comeback.
  • - IUPUI sored 62 points against Wright State and NKU, the first time IUPUI scored under 70 points in back-to-back games since Dec. 1 and 7 against Elon and Ohio.
ABOUT MILWAUKEE
  • Milwaukee sits at 11-14 overall and 8-6 in Horizon League play after winning its last four games, including wins at Wright State and against Green Bay.
  • The Panthers are coming off of wins against Oakland and Detroit Mercy.
  • Brandi Bisping leads the Panthers with 9.8 points per game and Lizzie Odegard is averaging 8.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.
  • On the season, Milwaukee is being outscored by almost six points per game and is shooting just 39.2 percent, while allowing their opponents to hit 41 percent of their shots.
