ST. LOUIS, Mo. – IUPUI men's tennis stays on the road for an early season match, taking on Saint Louis on Saturday (Jan. 25). The Jags will be looking to grab their first win of the year after falling to Northwestern to start the year.
ABOUT THE JAGS
The Jags dropped a 4-0 decision at Northwestern in the first match of the season. In the match against the Wildcats, IUPUI lost the doubles point and then the No. 2, 5 and 6 singles matches.
For the season,
Alex Jochim leads IUPUI with a 6-5 overall record with all of those decisions coming in the fall season, Jochim's match against Northwestern went unfinished with the match tied 6-6 in the first set.
Ethan Mardanus-Budiono and
Michael Koch both sit at .500 on the season with Mardanus-Budiono at 4-4 and Koch and 3-3.
ABOUT SAINT LOUIS
Saint Louis started the spring season 0-2 with a 3-4 loss against Eastern Illinois and a 0-4 loss against Butler. The Billikens will also face off against Chicago State on Friday (Jan. 24) before taking on the Jags.
Felipe Cruz leads Saint Louis with a 7-4 overall record and is 1-1 in the spring season. Pavel Badaiants holds a 6-4 overall record as is also 1-1 during the spring season. In doubles play, the duo of Badaiants and Alex Heiden is 6-5 on the season but lost both of their No. 1 doubles matches so far.
