CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – IUPUI men's tennis is in the midst of a four-game road trip and is on the search for its first road win of the season as the Jaguars take on Austin Peay on Friday (Feb. 8) at 2 p.m.
IUPUI began the road trip with a 2-5 loss at No. 13 Notre Dame but the success of
Ethan Mardanus-Budiono,
Bradley Luetschwager and
Kyle Whittaker last week earned IUPUI a sweep of the Horizon League Men's Tennis Weekly awards.
Mardanus-Budiono was named Men's Tennis Player of the Week after pushing his singles match winning streak to five matches including going 2-0 last week. Mardanus-Budiono's 5-1 record at the No. 4 spot currently leads the Jaguar lineup.
Luetschwager and Whittaker teamed up to win IUPUI's second Men's Doubles Team of the Week of the season after going 2-0 with wins against Saint Louis and Notre Dame. The duo won IUPUI's first two No. 2 doubles matches of the season.
Austin Peay enters the match with a 1-4 record but won its last match, 6-1, over Clarksville. The Governors had lost three of their four previous matches by scores of 7-0.
The Jags beat Austin Peay last season 5-2 in Indianapolis.
