CHICAGO, Ill. – IUPUI men's tennis is hitting the road this weekend with matches at Chicago State and at Marquette on Friday (Feb. 15) and Saturday (Feb. 16), respectively.
The Jaguars will begin the trip against Chicago State at 3 p.m. and will finish the weekend taking on Marquette at 2 p.m.
IUPUI is coming off of a 4-3 win against Austin Peay but has alternated wins and losses in its last five matches.
The Jags best singles position is at the No. 4 spot where IUPUI is 6-2 on the season. Sophomore
Ethan Mardanus-Budiono holds the best mark in singles play for head coach Brandon Currie with a 5-1 record playing at No. 4 and is currently on a five-match winning streak.
IUPUI is 5-2 at No. 3 doubles with Mardanus-Budiono and
Sean Bailey a perfect 3-0 on the season. Freshmen
Colton Morehart and
Alex Jochim are 4-3 as a team at No. 1 doubles.
Last season, IUPUI beat Chicago State 5-2 but were taken down by Marquette in a close 3-4 loss.
