WOMEN'S BASKETBALL HEADS TO OHIO TO TAKE ON THE BOBCATS ON SATURDAY

IUPUI will be looking to win its third-straight game as the Jags play their sixth-straight game on the road.

ATHENS, Ohio – IUPUI will play the final road game of a six-game road stretch when the Jags head to Ohio for a matchup with the Ohio Bobcats on Saturday (Dec. 7). IUPUI will be looking to win its third game in a row after winning their last two games in Las Vegas and their first true road game of the season.

The game will begin at 1 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Jags won the UNLV Lady Roundup over Thanksgiving weekend with wins over St. John's and Elon. Senior Holly Hoopingarner was named MVP of the tournament, averaging 14.5 points per game, including leading the Jags with 19 points in the win over Elon for the tournament title.

Hoopingarner is one of three Jaguars to be averaging double-digits in the early season. Hoopingarner is second on the team with 10.9 points per game behind Macee Williams, who leads the team with 13.9 points per game. Freshman Natalie Andersen is averaging 10.7 points per game, including a career-high 19 against St. John's in her first-career start. Rachel McLimore is just shy of double-digits with 9.9 points per contest.

AGAINST OHIO
This will be the fourth-straight year that IUPUI and Ohio will face off. The road team has won the first three matches of the series with Ohio coming away with a 73-66 win the Jungle last season on Dec. 16. Macee Williams led the Jags with 27 points and 16 assists in the loss. IUPUI was up by four heading in to the final quarter before being outscored by 11 in the last 10 minutes.

MACEE HITTING 1,000
Macee Williams scored her 1,000th-career point with her first basket against St. John's. Williams became the 26th Jaguar to score 1,000-career points in an IUPUI uniform. Williams currently has 1,027 points which has her 24th all-time and the junior will jump in to the top-20 with 23 more points.

  • IUPUI broke its three-game losing streak winning the UNLV Lady Rebel Roundup with wins against St. John's and Elon. Holly Hoopingarner was named MVP of the tournament after averaging 14.5 points per game in the two game tournament.
  • In the win over the Red Storm, IUPUI was led by Macee Williams, who posted a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. It was the third double-double of the season for the junior. Williams also led the Jaguars with six assists.
  • Natalie Andersen went 7-for-11 from the field and was 4-for-7 from deep on route to a career-high 19 points against St. John's.
  • Four Jags finished in double-figures with Morgan Allen scoring 12 and Holly Hoopingarner adding 10.
  • The Jags dominated St. John's on the glass with a 40-26 rebound advantage. IUPUI had 13 offensive rebounds leading to 12 second-chance points. Williams and Allen each had five offensive rebounds.
  • IUPUI was 15-of-16 from the free throw line, helping the Jags close out the game.
  • The Jags won the tournament with a win over Elon, led by Hoopingarner with 19 points and Katelyn O'Reilly scored in double-figures for the first time this year with 11 points.
  • IUPUI had a 15-point lead against Elon before being outscored 22-7 in the third quarter. The Jags only hit one field goal in the quarter as the Phoenix made the comeback.
  • IUPUI had its second-worst shooting game of the season with a 34.7% shooting percentage and went 7-for-24 from deep.
  • The Jags 59 points are the fewest in a win this season and IUPUI had only two wins last season with less than 60 points scored.
SCOUTING OHIO
The Bobcats come in to the game with a 5-2 record but lost their last game 60-55 against Butler on Nov. 30. The Bobcats do hold wins against Pitt and Ohio State on the season and are outscoring opponents by an average of 10.8 points per game.

Four Bobcats are scoring at least 10 points per game and all five starters are in the top-six in scoring on the team. Amani Burke leads Ohio with 14.7 ppg and Erica Johnson is second at 12.9, while leading the team with 7.6 rebounds per game.
