Tickets will be just $5 as IUPUI returns to the Jungle for the first time in a month.

12/10/2019 9:09:00 AM

INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI women's basketball finally returns to the Jungle after spending the last month with six games on the road. The Jags will play IU Northwest beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 11).

All tickets for the game will be just $5 and those who cannot make it to the Jungle can watch the game on ESPN3 with Andrew Kappes on the play-by-play call.

The Jaguars will be looking to bounce back from a 70-64 loss at Ohio on Saturday (Dec. 7). The Jags were led by Macee Williams and Holly Hoopingarner, who each finished with 13 points and Williams grabbed 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the year. The Jags were done in by a poor shooting effort from behind the arc as IUPUI went 6-for-26 from three-point range, just 23.1 percent. It was the second-worst three-point shooting game for IUPUI.

The Jags also struggled to get to the free throw line against the Bobcats. IUPUI had gotten to the line at least 14 times in six of their first seven games, the only game not getting to the line that many times was a 5-for-6 performance in the loss at No. 17/19 Miami (Nov. 17). The Jags again shot the ball well from the stripe but went just 6-for-7 against Ohio. Overall this season, IUPUI is shooting over 77 percent from the line.

SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
IU Northwest is 5-7 on the season and will be playing their only game against an NCAA Division I opponent this season against the Jags. Breanna Boles led all players with 19 points and nine rebounds and Sarah Martin finished in double-figures with 11. IU Northwest went 0-for-7 from three but did go 14-for-18 from the free throw line.

For the season, Michaela Schmidt leads the team with 15 points per game and Boles is second on the team with 14.8. The RedHawks have owned the glass against their opponents, pulling down seven more rebounds per game. The deep ball has not been utilized by IU Northwest much this season, with the team shooting just 153 this year, while their opponents have shot 319.
