INDIANAPOLIS – In between road matches on its Horizon League schedule, IUPUI men's tennis team will play its final scheduled non-conference match of the season against Ball State on Wednesday (April 11) at 3 p.m. at the West Indy Racquet Club.
The Jags (7-14, 1-3 Horizon) fell one point short of a match win their last time out, falling 4-3 to UIC. IUPUI earned the doubles point against the Flames and #
David Beasley# and #
Ethan Mardanus-Budiono# each picked up singles wins. Mardanus-Budiono has now one five-straight matches and Beasley has won three in a row.
SCOUTING BALL STATE
Ball State is 12-8 on the season but are losers of three-straight matches, falling to Northern Illinois, Butler and Western Michigan. The back end of Ball State's roster has been very strong this year with a 14-4 record at No. 6 singles and a 12-4 record at No. 5 singles. Bryce Bonin holds the best record for the Cardinals with a 12-3 mark in singles play this spring.
The Cardinals hold a 16-1 record in No. 3 doubles play with the team of Chris Adams and Tom Carney sitting at 12-1 as a squad this year.
Ball State has beaten the Jags in each of the last nine season.
