INDIANAPOLIS – After winning its first road match of the season, IUPU men's tennis will remain on the road over the weekend, opening its Horizon League schedule on Saturday (March 24).
The Jags (6-9) will begin its weekend with its first Horizon League match, taking on Detroit Mercy in Detroit on Saturday at 11 a.m. IUPUI will then travel south to take on Notre Dame on Sunday (March 25) at 5 p.m.
IUPUI is entering the weekend coming off of a 4-3 win over Austin Peay on March 13. The Jags won the match taking four of the six singles matches with #

Bradley Luetschwager# picking up the wins. Luetschwager holds the best singles record for head coach #Brandon Jacobs#, with a 9-6 mark.
SCOUTING DETROIT MERCY
Detroit Mercy is 8-7 on the season but lost its last match 2-5 to Louisville. Luka Soskic and Gvidas Motuzas each have ten singles wins for the Titans and Alvaro Arce and Nathan Ponton have eight each. The Titans are over .500 in each singles spot except No. 1 singles where they are 7-7.
Doubles play has not been as strong for Detroit Mercy as the Titans are under .500 in every spot. The best combination for UDM has been when Ponton and Soskic team up as they are 4-1 together, including 3-1 at No. 1 doubles.
SCOUTING NOTRE DAME
The Fighting Irish come in to the weekend as the No. 26 ranked team in the country and are 10-8 overall. Notre Dame will play two ACC matches (North Carolina, Virginia Tech) before taking on IUPUI on Sunday night.
The back end of the lineup has been the strongest for Notre Dame as the Fighting Irish are a combined 25-5 at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots. Richard Ciamarra holds the best dual meet record this year for Notre Dame at 11-4.
Notre Dame's best doubles spot is at No. 3 with a 9-3 record. Ciamarra and Matt Gamble are 4-2 together in that spot as a team.
