INDIANAPOLIS – After playing their last three matches away from home, IUPUI women's tennis returns home for a double header on Friday (Feb. 9).
IUPUI (2-2) will be looking for its first home win of the season when it plays host to Bowling Green and Butler.
The Jags will begin their day against Bowling Green at 9 a.m. at the West Indy Racquet Club. When the Jags took on the Falcons a season ago in Ohio, Bowling Green came away with a 4-3 win. Bowling Green comes in to the match with a 3-1 record, falling in its last match against Pitt.
Later in the day, IUPUI will take on crosstown foe Butler, with the match starting at 1 p.m. Butler is 2-4 on the season having won its last two matches and has two matches before the Jags host the Bulldogs. The last meeting between IUPUI and Butler went in favor of the Jags with a 4-3 win in 2016.
Head coach Marisa Arce will be looking to get more solid play from
Valeriia Lavrenchuk and
Krystal Grubb this season, especially in the doubles matches. The duo is undefeated this season having won all four of their matches.
In singles matches, Lavrenchuk, Grubb and
Samantha Mayer are tied for the team lead with a 2-2 record.
