WOMEN'S BASKETBALL BACK HOME TO FACE UIC

The Jags will close out the season with six of their last eight games inside the Jungle.

INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI Lady Jags are back home after spending the last four games on the road when they take on UIC in The Jungle on Saturday, February 3 at 3 p.m.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 with Scott Agness on the play-by-play call.

Head coach Austin Parkinson's squad is coming off a tough defeat to No. 22/21 Green Bay 52-45 as the Jags offense came up cold in the fourth quarter, when Green Bay outscored the Jags 19-6. Sydney Roule led the Jags in the game against the Phoenix with a career-high 11 points and Holly Hoopingarner also finished in double-figures with 10.

IUPUI's (16-5, 8-2 Horizon) offense has struggled against Green Bay, only scoring 39.5 points in the two matchups with the Phoenix, but the Jags haven't struggled against anyone else, scoring 73.6 points per game in the other 19 games this season.

The Jags will take on UIC (7-14, 0-10 Horizon) for the second time this year, the first meeting coming in Chicago, with the Jags extinguishing the Flames 82-46. In that matchup, four Jags scored in double figures, led by Danielle Lawrence who scored 21. Macee Williams finished with 13 points and nine rebounds and Morgan Allen and Hoopingarner each scored 11. The Jags finished shooting 54.7 percent from the field and hit 50 percent from the three point line.

IUPUI dominated UIC inside with 44 points in the paint, compared to just 18 for UIC. IUPUI also finished with 15 second chance points off of 11 offensive rebounds. IUPUI's 31 bench points were the third-highest total of the season.

SCOUTING UIC
The Flames have struggled in Horizon League play, still looking for their first conference victory. The last time on the court, UIC fell to Milwaukee 59-44. Brittany Byrd is leading the Flames with 15 points per game and Taylor Toney is second on the squad with 14.1 points per contest. After that, UIC has struggled on the offensive end, only scoring 58.9 points per game this season. The Flames have not cracked sixty points since scoring 63 against Oakland on Jan. 11.

QUOTABLE
"Our ladies are excited to be back home and looking forward to playing in front of the home crowd," said Parkinson. "UIC in an athletic team that gets out and pressures defensively. We will have to take care of the ball and box out on the defensive end."

Fans can stick around after the game to get a poster autographed by the team.
