OXFORD, Ohio – IUPUI's diving team had a successful weekend at the Miami Invitational, taking home six top-eight finishes in the meet.
Senior
Krisztian Somhegyi began the weekend with a fifth-place finish in the men's platform event on Thursday (Nov. 29). Somhegyi was the highest-scoring collegiate athlete in the event, scoring 363.30 points.
On Friday (Nov. 30) the rest of the Jaguars took to the boards with the men's 1-meter and the women's 3-meter events. On the men's side, Somhegyi was the top Jag with seventh-place finish, tallying a season-high 319.25 points.
Mitch Mastey scored 257.50 to finish in 11
th and
Patrick Tener finished in 12
th (254.05).
In the women's 3-meter event,
Rylee Dahlman took home sixth with a score of 249.85 and teammate
Carolyn Dietz finished 14
th scoring 217.45 points.
Saturday concluded the event and Dahlman earned the best overall finish for IUPUI with a fourth-place finish in the women's 1-meter with a season-high 270.80 points. Dietz tallied 237.30 points to finish 11
th.
Two Jags finished in the top-eight in the men's 3-meter as Somhegyi finished fifth (354.25) and Mastey finished eighth (309.35). Tener took home ninth with a score of 278.90.
IUPUI's last meet before taking a break over the holidays will be on Friday (Dec. 6) against Xavier, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Natatorium.
