CHICAGO – IUPUI women's tennis team picked up its second-straight win on the road with a 6-1 victory over Chicago State on Sunday (Jan. 28).
In doubles action,
Valeriia Lavrenchuk and
Krystal Grubb took the No. 1 match 6-4 and IUPUI won the No. 3 match by default to earn the doubles point.
IUPUI took the No. 6 and No. 5 singles matches by default, giving IUPUI three points and one away from taking the match.
Lavrenchuk gave IUPUI the match win with a victory at No. 1, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. IUPUI's other two singles wins came in three sets with Grubb winning at No. 2 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 and
Samantha Mayer won the No. 3 singles match 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.
The three-set wins by Grubb and Mayer were wins in three-set singles matches this year by IUPUI.
The Jags will be on the road for one more match when they take on Western Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m.
