INDIANAPOLIS - Three members of the IUPUI women's track and field squad are expected to compete this weekend at the Tom Hathaway Distance Classic, hosted by the University of Indianapolis. Sophomore
Rachel Saylor will run a pair of races while freshman jumpers
Lana Pham and
Sarah Welsh will compete on Saturday.
Saylor will run a pair of races at the two-day meet, competing in the 400m on Friday night (Jan. 26) before running the 200m event on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 27). Saylor will take aim at her own personal bests, having run 29.91 in the 200m last weekend in Fort Wayne and 1:00.93 in the 400m last season. Her season-best in the 400m this year was a 1:03.76 effort at the Kentucky Invitational.
In the high jump, Welsh will try and boost her own school record, having cleared 1.58m (5' 2 1/4'') at the Mastodon Opener back on Dec. 2. Pham is coming off a personal best effort at the Fort Wayne Duals, having jumped 1.52m (4' 11 3/4'') last weekend.
