INDIANAPOLIS - The Horizon League has named IUPUI women's basketball freshman Macee Williams Freshman of the Week for the week of Jan. 8-14, the league announced on Monday, Jan. 15.

Williams takes home her second-straight Freshman of the Week award and her fifth overall for the season after averaging 21 points and 6.5 rebounds as the Jags went 2-0 in their last two games.

In the first game of the week, Williams scored 18 points in just 17 minutes due to early foul trouble. The Veedersburg, Ind., native was 6-for-8 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line, scoring 14 of her 18 points in the second half.

Williams outdid herself two days later as the Jags hosted Oakland. Against the Golden Grizzlies, Williams led IUPUI with a career-high 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, five offensive, for her third double-double of the season. Williams went 9-for-10 from the floor and 6-for-7 from the charity stripe.

For the week, Williams shot 83.3 percent from the field and increased her league-leading field goal percentage to 70.5 percent, while also shooting a sizzling 92.3 percent from the free throw line.

Williams and the Jags face one of their toughest tests of the season so far as the Jags take on Green Bay, Monday (Jan.15) at 7 p.m. in the Jungle.
