JAGS WELCOME MAVERICKS TO WEST INDY RACQUET CLUB SATURDAY

IUPUI is looking to end an eight-meet losing streak.

INDIANAPOLIS – In what has become an increasingly difficult stretch, the IUPUI men's tennis team (6-16, 0-1) will look to snap its current eight-meet losing streak as the Jags host Omaha (7-10, 1-1) Saturday (April 8) in the West Indy Racquet Club at 12 p.m. EST.

The Jags are coming off a trio of dual-meets this past weekend, dropping all three to Xavier, Butler and Notre Dame.  IUPUI last tasted victory in a 4-1 defeat of Saint Louis at home on March 3.  The Jags are led on the year by Bradley Luetschwager, as he's going 10-8 in dual-meet singles play, mostly operating out of the No. 6.  David Beasley has gone 10-9, including a 7-7 record out of the No. 4 spot.  Beasley also holds the top record in doubles play for IUPUI, going 10-8 on the year with a 1-0 record against league opponents.  Luetschwager and Kyle Whittaker have both picked up six doubles victories each, while Steven Christie has earned five.

The Mavericks are winners of two of their last four duals, picking up a victory over South Dakota State Sunday (April 2).  The 7-0 sweep was the fourth goose egg Omaha has put up against opponents, as the team has been the victim of the shutout three times.  Despite a strong 5-2 showing at home, the Mavs are just 2-7 away from the Miracle Hill Tennis Center.  Razvan Grigorescu has been fantastic out of the No. 1 spot, putting up a nearly spotless 12-3 record in dual meets, losing only to nationally ranked opponents.  He's 7-2 over his last 10.  In doubles play, he's 8-6 at the No. 1, while going 2-0 against Summit League opponents.

Admission to the West Indy Racquet Club is free, and all fans are encouraged to join the mid-day festivities Saturday.
