NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. - The IUPUI women's golf team capped off a fifth-place finish at this year's Summit League Championships on Tuesday (Apr. 25), carding a final round 318 at ArborLinks. Denver won the tournament and earned the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, overcoming a two-stroke deficit to pick off South Dakota State.

Denver closed the event at 906, followed by SDSU (912), North Dakota State (945), Oral Roberts (946) and the Jaguars (957). It marked IUPUI's third straight fifth-place finish at the league championships. 

Senior MeKenzie Hilsmeyer was the Jaguars' low scorer on Tuesday, carding a final round 76 to end her tournament at 234 (77-81-76), placing 13th. Just ahead of her was junior Aneta Abrahamova, who finished 12th at 233 (75-78-80). 

"I had a lot of great shots today," Hilsmeyer said. "Having four birdies today showed me how good of a player I've become. I have no regrets from the tournament. 

"I would love another year of this but I absolutely loved the last four years of playing college golf."

Senior Lindsey Budnik capped her collegiate career with a final round 79, finishing her tournament at 246. Sophomore Lindsey Hackleman finished at 248 (81-81-86) and senior Erin Ingram closed at 252 (82-87-83). Ingram finishes her decorated career as the program's all-time leader in rounds played (104). 

Head Coach John Andrews graduates three-fifths of his championship lineup as Budnik, Hilsmeyer and Ingram all closed their collegiate careers on Tuesday. Among the three of them, they combined on 261 career rounds played in an IUPUI uniform.
