INDIANAPOLIS – Looking for the elusive first victory of the season, the IUPUI women's tennis team (0-7) will have a pair of opportunities as the Jags host Missouri State (2-2) Saturday (Feb. 11) at 3 p.m. EST followed by SIU-Edwardsville (3-0) at 10 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 12).
As the Jags have demonstrated plenty of heart throughout the early parts of the 2017 season, IUPUI has often come up just a few swings shy of drastically changing the outcome of multiple meets. The team is led on the season by
Valeriia Lavrenchuk who leads the team with a 2-5 record in singles play.
The Missouri State Bears have been blanked over their past two dual-meets, dropping 0-7 decisions against Wichita State and Kansas State. The team opened the season with a pair of 5-2 wins against Tennessee State. SIU-Edwardsville has truly had to grind their way to a 3-0 start, as the team netted wins of 5-2, 6-1 and 4-3 on the season.
Admission to the West Indy Racquet Club for IUPUI tennis events is free.
