INDIANAPOLIS – Catching fire after dropping into their lowest point of the season, the IUPUI women's basketball team (16-6, 6-3) will look to get redemption in a rematch with Omaha (11-11, 4-5) Thursday night (Feb. 2), as the Jags carry their five-game winning streak into the bout.  The Mavericks were the Jags first loss in a string of three-straight back on Jan. 5, also serving as their first loss in Summit League play.

A team that has climbed back into the top three in the Summit League standings, IUPUI is averaging 67.5 points a game this season on a team .438 field goal percentage.  The Jags are the second-best three-point shooting team in the League with a .384 clip.  Offensively, Danielle Lawrence has led the charge with 15.5 points per game, while Mikale Rogers has been a two-way force, earning three Summit League Player of the Week awards this season.  She's averaging 13.9 points and 7.6 rebounds while picking up a League second-best 51 blocks.

In their brief history against one another, the Jaguars own a 6-4 record against the Omaha Mavericks, although the Jags have slid in recent memory.  The loss in their January matchup pushed the Jags three-straight losses to Omaha.  The Jags had their worst shooting performance of the season against the Mavs, as IUPUI combined for just a .298 clip in the road loss.  Only one Jaguar finished in double-digit points in the game, as Holly Hoopingarner was the lead scorer for IUPUI with 11 points.  Mikaela Shaw, one of the top-five scorers in the Summit League, finished the game with 24 points.

The Mavs are coming off a nail-biting 83-82 victory over South Dakota State at home (Jan. 28), improving to 3-1 over their last four games.  The lone loss was a staggering 62-65 upset at the hands of Fort Wayne.  A substantially different team at home, the Mavs have been plagued with road woes this season, going 4-7 away from the Baxter Arena.  The team averages 69.8 points per game, and has allowed 63.9.  As a unit, the Mavs are shooting .445 for the year, including .374 from three-point range.  Omaha averages allowing just 13 points in the first quarter, while averaging 18.4 points scored.

The game will feature live video coverage, available for free via IUPUI Live!, with a link to the action here.

Thursday will also mark Favorite Professor Night at the Jungle, as multiple professors selected as the favorites by student-athletes will be in attendance.  The chosen professors will be honored for their work at halftime.
