INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's soccer program will recognize seniors
Harold Agyeman-Prempeh and
Uriel Macias when the Jaguars host Green Bay (5-4-3, 4-1-1 Horizon) at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 22). The match will be broadcast on ESPN3 as Andrew Kappes is on the call.
IUPUI (0-11-1, 0-6 Horizon) is coming off the team's best defensive effort of the season, having played SIUE to a scoreless draw earlier this week. Redshirt freshman
Michael Buck collected his first career shutout and lowered his goals against average to 1.51 in the process.
Macias continues to lead the Jaguars with two goals and an assist on the season while sophomore
Pedro Valladao has a goal and an assist. Valladao also paces the Jaguars in shot attempts (13) from the midfield.
Defensively, freshman
Tommy Patacca leads the team in minutes played (1,102) and is followed closely in that category by Agyeman-Prempeh (1,045),
Nick Anderson (1,013) and
Sam Gavin (1,010).
IUPUI has gone to overtime in two of its past three matches, sandwiching a loss at Detroit and the draw at SIUE around a home loss to Belmont.
SENIOR SNAPSHOT: Agyeman-Prempeh is expected to make his 37th career appearance and 36th career start on Sunday. The native of England was voted Academic All-Summit League in 2015 before missing all of last season due to injury. Macias is expected to make his 49th career appearance and 41st career start on Sunday. The Indiana-native has 13 career goals and four assists in his four seasons. He was the 2014 Summit League Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-Summit after finishing that season with seven goals and three game-winners.
JAGS IN THE COMMUNITY: Head Coach
Brian Barnett and the Jaguars began a season-long partnership with Indianapolis Public Schools on Friday (Oct. 20), visiting a local school as part of the
'Real Men Read' mentoring program. In addition, IUPUI team members took part in the annual IUPUI Day of Caring on Saturday (Oct. 21), working primarily with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, planting trees throughout the day.
FORMER JAG EARNS MLS SPOT: After a long uphill climb, former IUPUI goalkeeper Eduardo Cortes recently inked a deal with the MLS FC Dallas as the team's third goalkeeper. He has yet to make his MLS debut, training as the team's third in line.
SCOUTING GREEN BAY: Green Bay (5-4-3, 4-1-1 Horizon) is just 2-3-1 away from home this season with wins at Milwaukee and Wright State, both in overtime. Audi Jepson leads the Phoenix attack with seven goals and five assists and Tomer Zloczower has three goals and a team-high seven assists. Both have a team-high two game-winning goals. In goal, Nikola Kahvedzic has played the majority of the team's minutes and has a 1.34 goals against average and 32 saves in nine appearances. He has a 4-3-2 record and .711 save percentage for the year.
INSIDE THE SERIES: IUPUI is 2-1-2 all-time against Green Bay in a series that began in 2001. The two sides haven't met since playing to a 1-1 draw in the 2008 season. IUPUI is 1-0-1 in the two meetings in Indianapolis and 1-0-1 in Green Bay. The Jags' lone loss in the series came in the 2006 season opener in Lexington, Ky..
