BROOKINGS, S.D. – Another tough test during a brutal opening Summit League schedule, the IUPUI women's basketball team (11-5, 1-2) will return to South Dakota Wednesday (Jan. 11) at 8 p.m. EST to face the South Dakota State Jackrabbits (12-4, 3-1) in yet another matchup with a top-team. Currently, the Jackrabbits are tied for first place with Western Illinois, South Dakota and North Dakota State.
The Jags are coming off back-to-back losses for the first time this season after falling to Omaha and South Dakota. IUPUI has a chance to get back to .500 in Summit League action after winning their opener against Western Illinois. Averaging 68.9 points per game, the Jags are shooting .438 from the field and .384 from three-point range. The team averages 35.2 rebounds per game and own nearly a +2 rebound margin. The Jags are outscoring opponents by 10.1 points per contest.
Danielle Lawrence leads the team with 14.8 per game, while
Mikale Rogers averages 14.1 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds.
Sydney Hall has added 10.9 points.
The Jackrabbits have posted 68.3 points per outing, while shooting .429 from the field and .327 from long-range. Defensively, they've limited opponents to a .263 clip from beyond the arc. Austin Parkinson. Since 2013, the Jags are 5-3 against the Jackrabbits, defeating them in their last meeting 63-60 in Indianapolis last season. The last time the Jags traveled to Brookings, the team fell in a heartbreaking 66-68 double overtime decision.
