Full Results INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women's tennis team claimed a 4-3 victory at inner-city rival Butler on Saturday (Apr. 2) after winning the doubles point and splitting the six singles matches, 3-3. The win moves the Jags to 6-11 (1-0) on the season including all six wins in the last nine matches dating back to mid-February.
"We started off the match with a great doubles point," first-year Head Coach
Marisa Lambropoulos said. "Our tennis didn't set up apart from Butler today. Our heart and confidence did. We've had a great couple of weeks of practice and it really showed today."
Junior
Rachel Swartwood rebounded for a win in No. 2 singles with a 7-5, 0-6, 6-4 victory in three sets. Senior
Bobbi Modesto (6-4, 6-1) won the No. 5 singles spot comfortably while freshman
Brigitte Swartwood clawed her way back to win No. 6 singles, 2-6, 6-3, 6-1.
"My match was very fun today," Brigitte, the younger Swartwood sister, said. "I got the chance to play a player who plays very differently than most of the people I play. It was a new challenge and I'm happy I got the opportunity to overcome. It was awesome to be part of this team today. We showed so much heart and discipline. Everyone came out ready to play and fight to the end and this is something we have been striving for all season.
"I couldn't be more proud of these girls and what we accomplished today."

Sara Sherif dominated the No. 1 doubles spot, 6-2.
IUPUI will be in action again on Sunday (Apr. 3) at 9:30 a.m. as they host Denver in a Summit League match at West Indy Racquet Club. The Jags will recognize Modesto as the lone senior on Senior Day in her final home match.
