INDIANAPOLIS – A colossal opportunity to face a top-tier program from a powerhouse conference, the IUPUI women's basketball team (5-1) will face Missouri (5-2) Sunday afternoon (Dec. 4) at 2 p.m. EST in the Jungle.  The Jags are currently riding a five-game winning streak and will face off with a Tigers team that is hosting Missouri State Friday night (Dec. 2) before taking to the road for the single game.

This season, the Jags have three players averaging in double-digit points, while the team has combined to shoot .438 (151-for-345) from the field.  Mikale Rogers leads the Jags in a pair of categories, as the All-Summit League selection has picked up 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest.  Danielle Lawrence and Sydney Hall are both averaging 12.3 points-per-game, while Hall leads the team with 16 three-pointers (16-for-32).  Holly Hoopingarner has shot a team-best .563 (9-for-16) from long range, Kelsi Byrd leads the team with a 3.3 assists-per-game average and Rogers has a Summit League-leading 18 blocks on the year.

The Jags are coming off a pair of games in which the team fought their way to victory in polar-opposite styles.  Against Georgia Southern (Nov. 26), the Jags had a prolific shooting night, as the team set the single-game three-point record with 16 combined three's while shooting above .500 from the field and beyond the arc.  In their most recent bout with Indiana State (Nov. 30), the Jags hot-hand went cold, as the team combined to shoot just .286.  To compensate, the team played ferocious defense, forcing 20 turnovers and picking up six blocks from Rogers alone.  A 15-5 third quarter keyed the Jags to a 45-35 victory.

Head Coach Austin Parkinson has reached a pair of milestones this year, as the seventh-year coach already set the program record for most wins at IUPUI, surpassing Kris Simpson's previous record of 97.  He picked up career-win number 100 against Georgia Southern, and currently stands at 101 total.

Missouri started the year by picking up victories over Abilene Christian and Nebraska, before losing their first game to the 15th-ranked Washington Huskies.  They've since defeated Indiana State, Creighton and Western Illinois while falling to Georgia Tech by just two points.  The team has received six votes in the Associated Press Top-25 national poll, and three votes in the USA Today Coaches' Poll.  Out of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), the Tigers finished the 2015-16 season with a 22-10 record while advancing to the second-round of the NCAA Tournament, topping Brigham Young in their opening act before being ousted by the seventh-ranked Texas Longhorns.  The team started last year with 13 consecutive victories, marking the best start in school history.

Sunday will also mark Kid's Day at the Jungle.  Youth tickets can be purchased for just $4 and free parking will be available for the game.  Kids attending the game can enjoy a balloon artist and face painting, post-game layups, and an autograph session with the team.  Additional parking information can be found HERE.

Live FREE video coverage will also be available for the game via IUPUI Live! and can be found HERE.
