INDIANAPOLIS – After seeing their seven-game winning streak snapped this past weekend, the IUPUI women's basketball team (7-2) will look to resume their winning ways Wednesday (Dec. 14) as the Jags host Tennessee Tech (3-7) at 7 p.m. EST in the Jungle.  The matchup marks the first meeting between the Jags and the Golden Eagles in program history.

The Jags are coming off their first loss since the season opener, dropping a tough-fought game to the fourth-ranked mid-major program in the country, the Ohio Bobcats.  The Bobcats stayed perfect (7-0) on the season by overcoming a 10-point first quarter deficit and a four-point half-time deficit.  The Jags fell behind by as many as nine points in the third quarter, but rallied to get within a point in the late going.  Turnovers hurt IUPUI, as the Bobcats forced 17 Jag turnovers and scored 27 points off the change-of-hand.

On the year, the Jags are shooting .441 and are averaging just a touch under 70 points per game.  The Jags are outscoring their opponents by an average of nearly 13 points per game, and are defensively limiting their opponents to a .382 field-goal percentage.

Danielle Lawrence leads the team with a scoring average of 15.3 points per game.  #Mikale Rogers is averaging 14.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while Sydney Hall is also averaging double-digit points, putting up 10.7 points.  Every victory for the Jags this season has come by at least double-digit points, with the exception of the Jags nine-point victory over Virginia Commonwealth (Nov. 22) in overtime on the road.

After losing five of their first six games, the Golden Eagles are 2-2 over their last four contests.  The team most recently lost 76-82 to East Tennessee State Sunday (Dec. 11).  Tennessee Tech averages 58.2 points per game, while shooting .355 from the field.  The Golden Eagles are shooting just .269 from three-point range.  In road games this season, Tennessee Tech is just 1-3, last losing to Cincinnati 38-60 on Dec. 2.  The team last put together a winning season during the 2012-13 campaign, in which the team finished 19-12 and advanced to the Ohio Valley Championship.

This season, the Jags have accomplished numerous historic feats, including their best start in program history (7-1) through the first eight games.  Austin Parkinson both set the record for most wins in program history (98) and also reached 100 wins against Georgia Southern (Nov. 26).  In that same game, the team set a record for most three-pointers in program single-game history with 16 combined.  The team also topped Missouri 73-45 on Dec. 4, marking the first time in program history the Jags topped a Southeastern Conference (SEC) opponent.

The Wednesday contest marks the final game to be played in the Jungle for 2016, as the Jags Dec. 28 and Dec. 31 games will be played as part of a men's-women's double-header at the Indiana Fairgrounds.
