SAN JOSE, Calif. - The IUPUI women's golf team carded back-to-back rounds of 324 on day one of the Santa Clara Colby Invitational on Monday (Oct. 31), putting them sixth of seven teams heading into Tuesday's final round. Host Santa Clara leads the field at 606 and is followed closely by CSU-Northridge (612), Montana State (623) and Weber State (625).
IUPUI trails fifth-place Utah Valley by 13 strokes and has a six-shot lead over Cal State Bakersfield.
Junior
Aneta Abrahamova led the Jags with rounds of 73 and 79 and is tied for sixth overall at 152. She ranks among the tournament leaders, having made four birdies and 22 pars on Monday.
Behind her, senior
MeKenzie Hilsmeyer is tied for 19th at 160 (82-78) and classmate
Erin Ingram is 23rd at 163 (81-82). Hilsmeyer made three birdies and 20 pars in her two rounds on Monday.
Senior
Lindsey Budnik is 39th at 173 (88-85) and sophomore
Lindsey Hackleman is 41st at 177 (90-87).
Santa Clara's Kristin Le leads the 42-player field at 1-under 143 (72-71) and has a four-shot lead over her closest competition. Tuesday's final round is slated for an 11:15 a.m. Eastern shotgun start.
