Memphis Day #1 Results (.pdf) I Dayton Day #1 Results (.pdf)

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Junior Aneta Abrahamova was the star of the day as the IUPUI women's golf team split the squad between the Memphis Women's Intercollegiate and Dayton Fall Invitational on Monday (Oct. 17). The Jaguars' top group carded rounds of 318 and 326 and are 13th at Ridgeway Country Club in Memphis while the reserves carded a round of 324 and are tied for tenth at Dayton.

In Memphis, Abrahamova was the story, carding rounds of 74 and 76 to sit at 150 in ninth-place among the 74-player field. She was particularly sharp on the course's par-4's, playing them to 2-over on Monday.

"On this golf course, it's very important where you hit your tee shots and where you land your ball on the green," Abrahamova said. "My approach shots were good, however, I didn't make as many birdies as I would wish. We hope it'll be less windy tomorrow and we're able to move up on the leaderboard."

Host Memphis leads the field at 598, followed by Houston Baptist (599), Murray State (604), FIU (610) and Tennessee Tech (613).

Senior MeKenzie Hilsmeyer is tied for 51st at 160 (78-82) and classmate Erin Ingram ended her day at 162 (81-81).

Senior Lindsey Budnik and sophomore Elizabeth Orr rounded out the Jaguars' lineup at 176 and 177, respectively. Orr carded a scoreable 85 in the morning round and Budnik had a countable 87 in round two.

Cal State Fullerton's Martina Edberg leads the field at 1-under 141 (69-72) heading into the final round.

At Dayton, Sara Saetre and Nicole Toledano both shot 79 and are tied for 28th among the 84-player field.

"I've been struggling with injuries all season, so it was nice to go out and play some good golf today," Saetre said. "I didn't finish the way I wanted to, but I'm excited to see what I can do tomorrow."

Sophomore Heidi Steinert shot an 80 and classmate Lindsey Hackleman capped the scoring quartet at 86. True freshman Mikala Mawhorter shot an opening round 90.

Oakland and Findlay are tied atop the leaderboard at 299 and Youngstown State is third at 301. As a team, IUPUI shot 324 and is tied with Summit League foe Fort Wayne for tenth place. YSU's Reva Morris is the top individual through 18 holes at even par 70.

Play will resume in Dayton at 9:00 a.m. Eastern and play will begin in Memphis at 9:15 Eastern.
