Full ResultsDAYTON, Ohio - The IUPUI men's tennis team fell to Dayton on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 30) by a count of 6-1 at Five Seasons. The Jags took the first point of the match on winning the doubles point before losing all six singles matches on the day.
Dayton improves to 3-2 on the season while IUPUI falls to 2-5 and are on a three-game losing streak.
In doubles action, the Jags took the first match as
Matt Moe and
Patrick McAuley won their match 6-2 at the No. 3 spot. IUPUI won the doubles point as
David Beasley and
Akshay Verma beat Simon Jayaram and Bernardo Sanson, 6-4.Â
The tide turned when the match switched over to singles play as Dayton took control. The Flyers took the first match at No. 1 against Beasley, 6-4, 6-1.
Marcus Nalley fell in his No. 3 match, 6-3, 6-0, and McAuley lost at No. 4, 6-0, 6-4. Dayton finished off the match as Carsten Fisher beat Verma at No. 2, 6-3, 7-5.
The closest match for the Jags came after the match was decided with
Louis Sacks falling in three sets, 6-4, 6-7, 10-6.
The Jags finish up their three-game Ohio road trip against Toledo, tomorrow at 3:00 p.m..
