INDIANAPOLIS – A career night from the post power and a lights-out mentality from the perimeter have the IUPUI women's basketball team shining in Summit League play. The Jaguars (12-5, 3-1) have moved into second in the Summit League standings and they welcome North Dakota State (5-12, 0-4) to The Jungle this Saturday (Jan. 16) for a 7 p.m. matchup.

Junior center Mikale Rogers' career-high 26 points–coupled with back-to-back net-scorching performances–have given the Jags two straight Summit League wins. In the last two games, IUPUI is 13-for-24 (54 percent) from the 3-point line. Individually, reigning Summit League Player of the Week–sophomore Danielle Lawrence–has went 6-for-10 from deep over the last two games while freshman Sydney Hall is 5-for-8 (combined 11-for-18 from 3-point range). Lawrence has scored in double figures in six of IUPUI's last seven contests.

IUPUI currently leads the Summit League in field goal percentage (44.5 percent) after their two impressive outings. The Jags also hold the Summit League's best scoring defense allowing just 58.0 points per game to opponents.

IUPUI is just one close loss to Oral Roberts (52-47) away from a five-game win streak and a 4-0 Summit League record. Still, a 3-1 conference mark and wins in four of the last five have IUPUI picking up speed in the midst of Summit League action.

Most recently, Wednesday's (Jan. 13) game belonged to the hometown hero. Mikale Rogers was on pace for a good night with six points and four rebounds at halftime against Omaha. A 20-point second half allowed IUPUI to run away from the Mavericks in a 16-point win at home. With dangerous outside shooting and a powerful post presence, the Jags sport one of the most balanced offensive attacks in the league. They look to build on their Summit League resume as they welcome a North Dakota State team that sits near the bottom of the Summit League standings.

Despite their record, NDSU boasts a pair of guards in the top-five in scoring among Summit Leaguers. Marena Whittle and Taylor Thunstedt lead the charge for the Bison. They each average greater than 16 points per game making the Bison capable of putting up points in a hurry.

IUPUI's Scott Agness will have the call on IUPUIJags.com just prior to the game. Saturday's (Jan. 16) game will also be Hall of Fame Induction Night as the IUPUI athletics community welcomes a new class of Jaguars to the Hall of Fame at halftime. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. ET.
