INDIANAPOLIS – After five matches away from home, the IUPUI men's tennis team begins a four-match homestand with three matches this weekend at the West Indy and Carmel Racquet Clubs.
IUPUI will host SIU-Edwardsville and Saint Louis on Friday, Feb. 6, at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, before hosting Xavier on Sunday, Feb. 8, at 5 p.m. The matches between the Cougars and the Musketeers will be played at West Indy Racquet Club, while Saturday night's match against Saint Louis will be played at the Carmel Racquet Club.
During the Jaguars six-match stint away from Indianapolis, IUPUI went 1-5 with three of those losses coming against Big East and Big Ten opponents. Despite the losses, the Jags have played some close matches against quality competition, but they haven't been able to pull out the crucial points.
Through eight matches,
Adam Reinhart leads the way with five singles wins, followed by
David Beasley with three. Doubles play has been inconsistent for the Jaguars as they are just 5-15 overall and three of those wins have come from the duo of Beasley and
Jose Calero.
