WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SET FOR AFTERNOON GAME AT MARQUETTE

Women's squad launches game one of doubleheader

The IUPUI women's basketball team gets set to take on Marquette in a 1 p.m. afternoon contest Monday (Nov. 16) at Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee. The women's game will be game one of a two-game, men's and women's doubleheader with the men taking on Marquette at 9 p.m. inside the BMO Harris Bradley Center. 

Women's Head Coach Austin Parkinson takes his girls on game two of a two-game season-opening road trip Monday (Nov. 16). The Jags let a lead slip late against Eastern Illinois on Friday (Nov. 13) in the season opener, falling 77-71 in overtime.

IUPUI (0-1) will take on a Marquette squad (0-1) who fell to Green Bay 75-55 last Friday (Nov. 13). 

The Jags saw big games from senior Akilah Sims and junior Mikale Rogers on Friday, as the pair went for 22 points and 19 points, respectively. Sims added eight rebounds while Rogers grabbed seven boards. Freshman point guard Sydney Hall was also impressive in game one for IUPUI, notching four points, seven rebounds and five assists. 

Marquette got double-figure scoring from just one player on Friday as McKayla Yentz went for 11, including three triples on five attempts. 

Monday's contest is IUPUI's final road test before returning home on Saturday (Nov. 21) to face VCU.
