TULSA, Okla. – After knocking off Summit League preseason favorite South Dakota State on Sunday, the IUPUI women's basketball team looks to build on that momentum when it begins a two-game road trip on Thursday at Oral Roberts.

GAMEDAY INFORMATION
  • Thursday's tip is slated for 8 p.m. ET at the Mabee Center in Tulsa, Okla.
  • Free live audio will be provided through IUPUIJags.com, and live video will be provided through ORUGoldenEagles.com for a fee.

ABOUT ORAL ROBERTS
  • The Golden Eagles are 7-10 on the season and 1-3 in the Summit League entering Thursday's contest.
  • Vicky McIntyre is one of the top players in the conference and averages a double-double with 12.1 ppg and 14.8 rpg. Her 14.8 rpg ranks second nationally.
  • McIntyre was named the Summit League Player of the Week on Jan. 12 after averaging 17.0 ppg and 13.5 rpg last week.
  • Dorottya Balla is ORU's leading shooter from deep hitting a team-high 24 three's this season, but Jayden Oliver is the team's best shooter from three at 38.3 percent.
  • Thanks in part to McIntyre's work on the glass, Oral Roberts owns a plus-six rebounding edge, but the Achilles heel for ORU this season has been turnovers as it turns the ball over around 20 times per game compared to just 12 for its opponents.

THE SERIES WITH THE GOLDEN EAGLES
  • Thursday's meeting will be the first since the 2012-13 season, and ORU leads the all-time series 17-11.
  • IUPUI is 3-11 all-time against the Golden Eagles in Tulsa, but the ORU has claimed three straight wins over the Jags in their home arena.

LAST TIME OUT ...
  • Nevena Markovic's jump shot from the right wing with 8.7 seconds to play gave the Jags the one-point lead and on the other end Mikale Rogers secured the defensive rebound off South Dakota State's last-second shot to secure the 68-67 win for the Jaguars over the Jackrabbits Sunday afternoon (Jan. 11) at The Jungle.
  • The win improved to the Jags to 7-9 overall and 2-1 in the Summit League, while South Dakota State fell to 11-6 overall and 2-2 in the conference. The win also is the fourth in the last five tries against the Jackrabbits, which includes three straight at The Jungle.
  • IUPUI led by six with two minutes to play, but a 7-0 run capped off by a Chyna Stevens three catapulted the Jacks on top 67-66 with 24 seconds to play. Head coach Austin Parkinson called a timeout to regroup his team, and out of the timeout Rogers got the ball in the post and found Markovic across the floor for the game-winning jump shot which hit nothing but the bottom of the net.
  • The game-winner from Markovic was the final two of her game-high 21 points, and she was joined in double figures by Shaquira Scott and Rogers with 16 and 13 points, respectively. 10 of Scott's 16 points came in the first half as she paced the offensive attack in the first 20 minutes leading the Jags to a 34-28 lead at the break.
  • Playing its second game in 24 hours due to inclement weather in the Midwest, SDSU climbed out to a 9-4 lead a little more than three minutes in, but IUPUI weathered the early storm and found itself trailing 18-17 just past the midway point of the opening half.
  • For the next 4:30, the Jaguars defense didn't allow a point and offensively IUPUI went on a 9-0 run thanks in part to four points from Rogers to jump in front, 26-18, with five minutes to go.
  • SDSU closed within three with 20 seconds to play in the first half, but a Scott three from the left wing fell just before the horn sounded to double the lead to six, 34-28.
  • Out of the break the Jags moved their lead to double figures, 40-30, just 2:20 in, but from that point the lead fluctuated between five and 10 points until the final three minutes when the Jackrabbits closed within four at 62-58.
  • But every time the Jacks made a run, IUPUI had an answer, but there was no response bigger than Markovic's 18-footer with the game on the line that sent the Jags home with the win.

ON THE BLOCK
  • The game plan for the Jaguars in their win over South Dakota State on Jan. 11 was to pound the ball inside and work the ball inside out.
  • The plan worked as Nevena Markovic scored a season-high 21 points, while fellow post Mikale Rogers scored 13 points. The duo combined to shoot 14-of-27 from the floor.
  • It marked the fifth time this season that both players have scored in double figures in the same game, and the Jaguars are 3-2 in those contests.
  • Over the last seven games, Markovic has really upped her scoring production scoring in double figures six times.
  • During that stretch, she is averaging 12.7 ppg, while shooting 59.1 percent from the floor (39-of-66).
