MEMPHIS, Tenn.  - The IUPUI women's golf team got off to a rocky start at the FedEx Memphis Intercollegiate at Ridgeway Country Club, carding an opening day 647 (323-324) to round out the 12-team field. Final round play is slated to begin at 8:00 a.m. Central on Tuesday (Sept. 9) at the par-71 course. 

Sophomore Erin Ingram paced the Jaguars at 159 (81-78) on day one while senior Kelli Witt shot 160 (82-78). Ingram is tied for 51st among the 72-player field and Witt is tied for 57th overall. Ingram was solid throughout the day, making 10 pars during her first round before coming back with eight pars in round two. Meanwhile Witt made a team-high three birdies on Monday, two of which came in her second round. 

Senior Lauren Mains came in at 166 (78-88), including an opening round 78. The freshman duo of Nicole Toledano and Sara Saetre finished the day at 168 and 171, respectively. Saetre started well, making seven straight pars after a first hole bogey, but faltered late in her first round. 

Sophomore MeKenzie Hilsmeyer closed her first day at 166 while playing as an individual. 

Middle Tennessee leads the field at 12-over 580 and host Memphis is one shot back in second at 581. Three players are tied atop the leaderboard at 2-under 140 including MTSU' s Allie Knight, Memphis' Leighann Cabush and Ole Miss' Stani Schiavone.
