WOMEN'S GOLF WINDS DOWN PLAY AT SEASON-OPENING REDBIRD INVITIATIONAL

Freshman Olivia Aronhalt leads the Jaguars on the event's final day

NORMAL, Ill. - The IU Indianapolis women's golf team put a capper on their first tournament of the 2025-26 campaign on Monday (Sept. 8) with a final round 343 at Weibring Golf Club. The Jaguars, playing four-count-four throughout the 54-hole event, finished 15th overall at 991 (323-325-343). Freshman Olivia Aronhalt paced the Jaguars with a final round 80 on Monday and Lexi Stuart closed at 82. Both Yanah Rolston and Emma Frauhiger were countable at 87 and 94 respectively as sophomore Cassidy Ayres was sidelined after suffering an injury during Sunday's opening round. 

Senior Reagan Sohn posted an 85 in her final round while playing as an individual. 

Rolston finished the event tied for 56th overall at 238 (76-75-87) and Stuart made her IU Indy debut by tying for 72nd overall at 243 (78-83-82). Aronhalt closed her collegiate debut at 246 (86-80-80) and Frauhiger shot 264 (83-87-94). Sohn finished at 249 (84-80-85) from her individual spot. 

Aronhalt had a team-high 12 pars on Monday and made her lone birdie of the day on the par-4, No. 5. Stuart finished her round with 10 pars while Sohn had eight. 

"It was very nerve wracking, but so exciting to be playing at this level," Aronhalt said of her collegiate debut. 

Eastern Kentucky fired an even par 288 to surge to the team title at 879, edging South Dakota by a single shot. EKU's Karra Tucker earned medalist honors at 3-under 213, winning the tournament by three shots over USD's Catie Nekola. 

The Jaguars will return to action on Sept. 15-16 when they compete in the Cardinal Classic, hosted by Ball State.
