INDIANAPOLISÂ - After two straight weekends of Summit League play that saw the Jaguars go 1-1, they'll take a brief hiatus from conference play as they travel to Chicago. There, the Jaguars will take on Chicago State before heading north to Evanston to play No. 37 Northwestern.
IUPUI and Chicago State last played February in 2012, when the Jags swept all nine matches in a 7-0 win. The Cougars have improved slightly since the 2011-12 season, but have only three wins this season and have lost their last three matches.
The match with the Cougars starts early, at 9 p.m. ET, and will leave the Jaguars plenty of time to head north where they'll play Northwestern. The second match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. ET.
Northwestern, currently ranked 37th in the country, brings a modest 12-9 record, but is 6-9 versus ranked teams. Northwestern shares three common opponents with the Jaguars: Western Illinois, Purdue and Indiana. Both schools swept WIU and lost to Purdue, but Northwestern handled IU 6-1. Led by Raleigh Smith and Sam Shropshire, two nationally ranked players, the Wildcats could be the toughest competition for the Jaguars this year.
