INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Jaguars' final conference match of the regular season came down to the final point. With a third-set tiebreak win in No. 3 singles, the Jackrabbits took the match 4-3.
 
The match was moved up a day, to Saturday (Apr. 12) due to Sunday's weather forecast. The surprise start didn't seem to cause a slow start from IUPUI though, who opened the match winning No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the early point. Jason Jaruvang and Akshay Verma won in a route at No. 3 doubles while Jacob Bradley and Thomas Gans continued their strong play at No. 2 doubles with an 8-5 win.
 
Singles wasn't as kind though. Alex Toliver and Verma both won in straight sets, but the Jackrabbits took straight-set wins at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 singles. That left Gans battling it out in a third set at No. 3 singles. His opponent, Lovro Curcija, had the momentum going into the final set after winning the second, and the momentum carried him through winning the tiebreak and clinching the match.
 
Toliver's win at No. 2 singles was his 10th win in dual matches this season and Verma's was his 7th. Bradley and Gans improved their team-leading doubles record to 9-6, all at No. 2 doubles.
 
The win bumped the Jackrabbits conference record to 3-2 heading into post-season play, while the Jaguars fell to 2-3. The Jaguars still have two non-conference matches to play though, Wednesday afternoon against Ball State and Saturday against Detroit.
