INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Jaguars put an end to their 11-game win streak and started the conference off with a 6-0 win at Western Illinois. It was the second time this season IUPUI didn't give up a point.
Western Illinois fielded just five players and had to forfeit No. 3 doubles, so the Jaguars needed just one win in doubles.
Jacob Bradley and
Thomas Gans secured the point with an 8-4 win at No. 2. The win improved their record to a team-best 7-5 in doubles, all at the No. 2 spot.
Alex Toliver and Patrick O'Neill were leading their match, but didn't finish since the point was clinched.
The Jaguars dominated singles with all five matches finishing in straight sets. Jaruvang's first set was the only one to go to a tiebreak, which he won 7-4. It was his third-straight tiebreak he's won.
Alex Toliver improved his record to a team-best 8-9 this spring. Jaruvang and Gans are right behind though with seven wins each.
IUPUI has the next weekend off, but will travel to Fort Wayne on March 29 as the conference schedule rolls on.
