ABOUT DENVER
  • The Pioneers come into Thursday's game with a 5-18 overall record, but three of those wins have come in Summit League play.
  • Collectively, Denver averages 69.4 ppg and shoots 42.0 % from the floor, 34.3 % from three, and 70.9 % from the line.
  • DU has three players scoring in double figures led by Paige Bradley's 13.1 ppg, which has risen to 14.8 ppg in Summit League play. The other double-figure scorers are Kailey Edwards and Theresa Wirth, who average 12.4 ppg and 10.8 ppg, respectively.
  • Wirth also serves as the team's leading rebounder averaging 7.4 rpg.

THE SERIES WITH THE PIONEERS
  • Denver and IUPUI will be meeting for the fourth time on Thursday with the Jaguars holding a 2-1 edge in the series.
  • IUPUI won the first meeting this season, 82-66, back on Jan. 18 in Indianapolis.

LAST TIME OUT ...
  • DeAirra Goss tied a career-high with 27 points and Nicole Rogers scored 17 points on five made three's to lead IUPUI to a 76-66 win over Summit League leader South Dakota State Saturday afternoon at The Jungle.
  • The Jags had four double-digit scorers on the day, but it was the duo of Goss and Rogers that halted South Dakota State's eight game winning streak, extended IUPUI's win streak to eight, and moved the Jags into a tie with the Jackrabbits for first place in The Summit League at 8-1.
  • The Jaguars won almost every statistical category in the game, but as always defense and rebounding were the biggest keys to the victory for the Jags. As a group, IUPUI outrebounded SDSU and forced the Jackrabbits into 25 turnovers resulting in 19 points.
  • Rogers and Dee-Dee Bellamy carried the offensive load early with Rogers hitting two three's and Bellamy making two lay-ups to give IUPUI a 10-9 lead by the first media timeout.
  • The Jaguars held a lead at 24-23, but a 7-1 SDSU response from the 7:44 mark to the 5:11 mark put the Jackrabbits in front, 30-25.
  • Starting with a Goss free throw with 4:02 to play, the Jags went on a 14-3 run over the next 3:56 to open a 39-33 lead, but a Tara Heiser lay-up with six seconds to play in the opening half sent IUPUI into the break with a 39-35 lead.
  • During that spurt to end the half, Goss scored half of IUPUI's points and led the Jags with 15 at the break, while Rogers finished the first 20 minutes with 12 points on four three's.
  • Out of the half, IUPUI locked down on defense and held the Jackrabbits without a field goal for the first five minutes, allowing it to extend its lead to double figures, 47-37, with 14:50 remaining.
  • South Dakota State cut its deficit to two, 53-51, with 10:23 to play, but a bucket from Akilah Sims off a feed from Katie Comello, Rogers' fifth three of the game on the next possession, and a Goss free throw quickly pushed the cushion to eight, 59-51, with less than nine minutes to play.
  • The Jackrabbits continued to keep the game tight by scoring at the line, but the Jags were still able to keep their lead at seven, 65-58, as the clock dipped below three minutes.
  • SDSU hit a big three and two free throws with over a minute left to close within four, 69-65, but two free throws from Sims, a block from Goss on the defensive end, and two free throws from Goss extended the lead to 73-65 with 39 seconds left. In the final seconds, the Jags managed to hit 3-of-4 from the line to offset one free throw for the Jackrabbits, allowing IUPUI to finish off the 76-66 win.
  • Bellamy led the Jags on the boards with seven, while Goss added four assists and four steals to go along with her 27 points.

GOSS CLAIMS THIRD PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR
  • For the third time in four weeks, senior guard DeAirra Goss was named The Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Feb. 10 after helping the Jaguars post a 2-0 record the week of Feb. 3-9.
  • In addition to being named the Summit League Player of the Week, Goss was also recognized by CollegeSportsMadness.com as their Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
  • Goss led IUPUI to a pair of double-digit wins last week, including a 10-point win over previously conference unbeaten South Dakota State. With the wins, the Jags extended their winning streak to eight games – the longest winning streak for the program in its Division-I era and the second-longest in program history.
  • The Indianapolis native started the week with 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting, two rebounds and two steals in a 24-point win over North Dakota State, before erupting for a career-high tying 27 points in a 10-point win over South Dakota State. In addition to her scoring output, Goss added five rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks against SDSU.
  • The two 20-point efforts this week were Goss' sixth and seventh of the season, and five of those have come in Summit League action.

JAGS CLOSE IN ON MID-MAJOR TOP 25 POLL
  • With a win over South Dakota State on Feb. 8, IUPUI moved up the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major and is now on the verge of cracking the Top 25.
  • Back on Feb. 4, IUPUI was sitting outside the Top 25 with 17 votes, and following this weekend's victory, the Jags are now receiving 41 votes and sit just outside the Top 25.
  • The Jags have played four games against three teams - South Dakota State, Indiana State and Missouri State - that are either ranked or receiving votes in the Mid-Major Top-25 poll and the Jaguars are 3-1 in those games.

EIGHT STRAIGHT
  • With IUPUI's 10-point win over South Dakota State on Feb. 8, the Jaguars won their eighth straight game to improve to 18-6 overall and 8-1 in The Summit League.
  • The eight-game winning streak marks the longest winning streak in IUPUI's Division-I era, which began during the 1998-99 campaign.
  • Altogether, this run is the longest since the 1989-90 season. That year, the Jags went on a 15-game win streak en route to a 25-5 record and a NAIA District 21 title.
