Final Results (.pdf)BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Despite a five stroke improvement from round one, the IUPUI women's golf team slid one spot in the final standings at this week's Lehigh Invitational on Monday (Oct. 27), finishing fifth of nine teams with a 36-hole 667 (336-331). Princeton coasted to the team title by 24 shots ahead of host Lehigh, ending the tournament at 613. Lehigh (637), Albany (643), Monmouth (659) and IUPUI (667) rounded out the top half of the field.
Sophomore Erin Ingram paced the Jaguars on Monday with a 7-over 79, finishing the tournament tied for 15th of 55 players at 162 (83-79). Freshman Aneta Abrahamova closed at 164 (81-83) and senior Kelli Witt shot 169 (83-86).
Ingram started the day with a birdie before back-to-back double bogeys put her at 3-over through three. She then made par on 11 of her next 12 holes before ultimately finishing the tournament with a team-best 20 pars. Abrahamova was solid with a 5-over 41 on the front nine, but got off track with back-to-back double bogeys on 13 and 14.
Freshman Sara Saetre ended up at 177 (94-83) and senior Lauren Mains shot 178 (89-89). Saetre made a pair of birdies on the back nine, including a nice four on the par-5 15th.
Princeton's Tenley Shield and Alexandra Wong both finished at 6-over 150 with Shield earning medalist honors by virtue of her final round 75. Ingram finished the fall with a team-best 78.42 stroke average in five tournaments while Abrahamova posted a 79.0 scoring average. Witt was third on the team with an 80.54 scoring average while playing a team-high 13 rounds. As a team, IUPUI finished the fall slate with a 326.18 team scoring average.
