SCU Colby Invite Final Results (.pdf)KETTERING, Ohio - The IUPUI women's golf team finished a pair of split-squad events on Tuesday (Oct. 21), earning a sixth-place finish at the Santa Clara Colby Invitational at Silver Creek Valley and a 16th-place finish at the Dayton Fall Invitational at NCR Country Club. The Jaguars' regulars shot a final round 322 at the Santa Clara event, finishing that tournament at 973 (332-319-322) while the reserves turned in a final round 343 to close the Dayton event at 679 (336-343).
Freshman
Sara Saetre highlighted the play in Dayton with a third-place finish at 7-over 147 (73-74) while
Kelli Witt placed 15th at 239 (80-77-82) in California.
Three Jaguars turned in final round 80's at Silver Creek Valley, keyed by sophomore
Erin Ingram. Ingram closed tied for 16th overall at 241 (79-82-80) while freshman
Aneta Abrahamova shot 242 (84-78-80).
Senior
Lauren Mains had her best round of the tournament on Tuesday, finishing at 256 (89-87-80). Sophomore
MeKenzie Hilsmeyer capped the lineup at 257 (90-82-85) and freshman
Nicole Toledano shot 244 (80-81-83) and placed 26th while playing as an individual.
UC Riverside won the tournament by nine shots over host Santa Clara, shooting a 54-hole 927 (306-308-313).
In Dayton, Saetre was the story where she finished three shots back of medalist Jenna Peters from Butler. The rookie from Norway made five birdies over the two days, while also making 20 pars.
Sophomore
Katie Smith shot 166 (83-83) and
Lindsey Budnik closed at 182 (90-92). Junior
Karisa Stojkovich came in at 184 (90-94) and rookie
Kennedy Nash posted a 201 (100-101).
Behind Peters, Butler won the team title by six shots, finishing the event at 604 (303-301). Oakland (610), Loyola (618), Detroit (622) and Northern Kentucky (633) filled out the top third of the 16-team field.
The Jaguars will conclude the fall schedule at the Lehigh Invitational on Oct. 26-27 at Saucon Valley Country Club in Upper Saucon, Pa..
