MEN'S TENNIS PREPS FOR TOUGH WEEKEND AT MARQUETTE AND GREEN BAY

Jags will pick up on Saturday against Marquette before facing Green Bay on Sunday

1/24/2014 12:00:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After falling one point short in each of their previous two matches, the Jaguars will look to rebound with a pair of matches against Marquette and Wisconsin–Green Bay this weekend in Milwaukee, Wis.

Despite the pair of close losses for the Jaguars, they've had quite a bit of success they can use to build on. The team carries a 2-1 record in each of the top four singles spots as well as a combined 4-1 record in the top two doubles spots.

The Jaguars have also added a new weapon at the top of the lineup in Alex Toliver, who is capable of spelling Jason Jaruvang in the No. 1 singles spot. Toliver is undefeated so far in three singles matches, two of them at No. 1 singles.

The boost at the top of the lineup will be much needed this weekend against a pair of talented squads.

The Jaguars will begin the action on Saturday (Jan. 25) at Marquette at 2 p.m. Marquette has played only two matches so far this spring, splitting them, but has had a week to stew after a 7-0 loss to Vanderbilt.

Green Bay has played only one match so far, a 7-0 victory over Cardinal Stritch on Thursday. IUPUI's match with Green Bay will start at 10 a.m. on Sunday (Jan. 26).
