INDIANAPOLIS - Coming off what could be the Jaguars toughest match of the season, the Jaguars bounced back and recorded their first match wins this spring. The Jaguars also took their first lead of the season earning the doubles point with victories in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches.

Playing all three of their matches in the first spot, the tandem of Rachel Swartwood and Vanessa Whyte won their first doubles match of the season with a tight 7-6 win. In the third spot, Abbey Neff and Julie Brockman won in easier fashion, 6-2. 

IUPUI's lead over Wright State didn't last long as the Raiders won five of six singles matches, but it is still progress. 

Sophomore Bobbi Modesto, who led the Jaguars with a 6-4 singles record in the fall season, notched the team's first singles victory with a  6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. 

In the only match to go to three sets, Neff and Wright State's Chelsea Girgash traded 7-5 sets before playing a third-set super tiebreaker. Neff couldn't carry her momentum from a second-set win though and lost the breaker 10-3. 

With the first weekend in the books, the Jaguars will have until Friday, Jan. 24 to practice and rest up before they travel to Richmond, Kentucky to take on Eastern Kentucky. The match will begin at 4 p.m.
