INDIANAPOLIS – The Jaguars return to action this spring following a fall season that saw sophomores Jake Hedderig and Jason Jaruvang earn four victories each in tournament play. Led by Jaruvang, who won an IUPUI-record 28 matches in his freshmen season, the Jaguars have a full slate of matches this weekend against Marian, SIU-Edwardsville and Saint Louis.

IUPUI will begin the weekend hosting Marian at West Indy Racket Club this Friday (Jan. 17) at noon. IUPUI dominated the Knights 6-1 last season, winning all but one singles match. Marian finished the season 18-8 and opened this season with a 68 percent match win percentage in the fall.

Following their home opener, the Jaguars will travel to Edwardsville, Ill., on Saturday to take on the Cougars at 5:30 p.m.. The Cougars were the only team on this weekend's schedule to beat the Jaguars last year, so the Jaguars will be looking to avenge last season's defeat.

The Jaguars wrap up the weekend in St. Louis, Mo., on Sunday at 10 a.m. when they face Saint Louis University. IUPUI defeated Saint Louis last year for its first victory of the season. The Jaguars took two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point and won four singles matches for the 5-2 victory.
